Hi! I’m Hamza, a visual experience designer based in Oslo, Norway. I’m well-versed in the entire product development lifecycle, with a passion for UI and visual design. With over a decade of experience, I’ve worked with clients like Rolls Royce Marine, Cisco, DNB, Avinor, Cognite, DNV GL, and Sector Alarm.
Here, you’ll see a sample of my work, but there’s much more to explore. I’m always eager to discuss my design process and the challenges that inspire me.

Rolls Royce Marine: Energy management portal
MY ROLE: UI Designer
TEAM: UX Designer, Front-end Engineers & Product Management
CLIENT: Rolls Royce Marine
ABOUT: Rolls Royce Marine provided a premium online fleet monitoring portal for fleet owners, to track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for their vessels.
THE CHALLENGE: The portal was outdated and did not reflect the Rolls Royce brand. The task was to design a visual language that inspired confidence and pride in RRM and its customers, making the portal feel bespoke and best-in-class.
REMARKS: The project involved countless iterations in close collaboration with RRM engineers and product managers. The final design was so well received that RRM implemented it across their suite of tools and applications. After RRM was acquired by Kongsberg, elements of my design system continued to influence their systems and tools.
Cognite AS: Various Sensor/Time-Series Data Visualization & Analysis Tools
MY ROLE: UI Designer (70%), UX Designer (20%), UX Researcher (10%)
TEAM: UX Designers, Front-end Engineers & Product Management
CLIENTS: Aker BP, Aker Solutions, TetraPak, +Others.
BACKGROUND: Heavy asset industries involve massive systems with electrical and mechanical equipment requiring constant monitoring. These systems are equipped with numerous sensors, resulting in a vast amount of time-series data. Different suppliers provide various digital tools for data access, creating a complex monitoring environment for engineers.
TASKS:
Understand the tasks of test groups of engineers and provide solutions through the Cognite Data Platform.
Provide access to time-series data from various systems and enable custom visualizations in dashboards.
Explore ways for the Cognite Data Platform to be beneficial to Aker BP.
CHALLENGES:
Designing a one-size-fits-all solution was impossible due to the complexity of tasks, even with daily feedback, shadow sessions, and site visits.
The lack of standard sensor naming across systems made data standardization difficult.
The project lacked a clear mission, making it more of an R&D exercise.
Simli - User & Therapist Portals for a VR Service
Background
It was December of 2022 and on the surface, the world was back to normal after living in isolation for 2 years because of Covid-19. But one of the drawbacks of social distancing was that a lot of people developed social anxiety. Simli at that time was building a VR service to help these people by working with their therapists.
Once a user is identified and recommended to use this service by their therapists. They could sign up and loan a VR headset that ran the Simli service. They could practice social scenarios and exercises at home. The therapist would get reports of their progress and together they could review that in their sessions. I collaborated with Simli in the early phases of their start-up to deliver:
Achievements:
I helped them define and understand their service journey blueprint and the involved stakeholders in a visual flow. This highlighted their market gaps and key areas to focus for an MVP.
I helped deliver an MVP in a polished and ready to sell package.
I designed, tested and supported the development of therapists' portal.
I redesigned their consumer mobile application to be easy to use, visually enjoyable and on brand. With simplified UX and features to manage on time delivery for the MVP.
I also delivered a design system which took into account a rebranding that also took place in the middle of the project.
